You're back? Good. When I was reading this story, I was shocked read: "Reese, still holding his gun on the guard, placed the sheet of paper on the windshield so the driver could read: ‘C2 Charges, I used half this amount to blow up an Iraqi tank in 91’."
That's almost word for word from Lambe's story "My Throw Down Piece", from Neil Smith's High Pulp issue of the Mississippi Review. Is Lambe ripping himself off? I thought to myself (italics in original).
A little closer look, and I realized that it's the same characters. These stories are two incidents from the same life, only they overlap a bit. A really cool idea and not something I've seen before.
