Did I Miss Again? I Think I Missed Again

I really wanted to make it down to Houston last Thursday for the Ken Bruen Road Show, but there was basically no way in hell, for a variety of reasons: A) I just had a vacation the week before and couldn't really take another day off, especially since B) work was hellish, and C) I wanted to stay around my daughter as her broken arm heals. So I planned on joining the Robert J. Randisi chat on DetecToday instead.

Which was on from 7:30 to 8:30, which I didn't remember until I flipped on the TV and noticed the time. Just as the chat was ending. Sheeeeeeiiiiiiiiit.

Worse, when I finally logged on to my computer an hour later to check my mail, I found out that the chat actually started at 8:30. It just wasn't my day.

Happy White Easter, y'all! We had an inch of snow for Easter Sunday. I can't remember ever having snow that late in the year here in Texas. A sign of the coming apocalypse? Who knows.

The priest gave a pretty good sermon, which summed up Easter better than I've ever heard it: "We celebrate Easter not because Jesus died for our sins - which he did - but because he didn't stay dead!" Now Ray "One Ticket To Hell" Banks can talk about "Zombie Jesus" all he wants to, but still, that's pretty cool.

Revenge. I spent a drizzly Saturday taking apart the trampoline that broke my little girl's arm. I felt a bit like Rhett Butler when he shot the pony in Gone With The Wind. "You hurt my girl! BANG!" (Note: he probably actually shot a pistol, instead of just shouting "BANG!") Now it's gone, hauled off to Irving, where it lies in wait for its next victim...
