Beddy Bye
Just finished getting the kids down to sleep. That's one of the unheralded joys of being an old fart: watching Looney Tunes with your kids, then getting them settled down for sleep. It's my job to read them (Joseph and Annie) each two stories and tuck them in. I complain about it every once in a while - truly rare is something I don't complain about - but mostly it's really cool. It's one reason I don't like traveling for business. I like them resting all peaceful, and hate missing it.
A few suggestions for bedtime books: Ten In The Bed, by Penny Dale; Love You Forever by Sheila McGraw and Robert N. Munsch; Guess How Much I Love You, by Sam McBratney and Anita Jeram; Green Eggs And Ham, The Cat In The Hat, or The Cat In The Hat Comes Back, by Dr. Seuss (Theodore Seuss Geisel), The Complete Adventures Of Curious George, by H. A. and Margaret Rey. As for cartoons, my favorite is Tex Avery, who did Droopy and Screwy Squirrel and such, although my wife says I sound like Hillbilly Bear ("dang.. mumphing bumble computer... mmmin' hummin internet...").
