Quote Of The Year (So Far):

KeithS: We're bending over backwards to make them happy.
Me: We're bending over, but not backwards.

Sometimes I amaze even myself.

Wil Wheaton Sweeps The Oscars! er, Bloggies!

Some of you may remember Wil Wheaton as Wesley Crusher from Star Trek: The Next Generation. Despite his status as Most Annoying Trek Character Ever, he's actually a pretty cool guy. He's got his own website, which he mostly did himself as he's a big geek. He was nominated for the Bloggie Awards in several categories, and swept his nominations! I say we rename the award the "Willies" in his honor.

I Am A Geek, Too, Dept.: I caught the end of Flash Gordon the other night while channel-surfing. This big hunk o' cheese came out when I was 12, and I still love it. My wife spent the whole movie laughing at me, but what can I say? Flash brings out the 12-year-old sci-fi geek in all men. Who wouldn't want to lead the daring attack on War Rocket Ajax, or fight Ming the Merciless, or kiss the lovely Dale Arden? It was also a lot of fun watching talented actors like Max von Sydow, Timothy Dalton, Brian Blessed and Topol make fools out of themselves (in a good cause, of course). And, of course, the less talented actors made even bigger fools of themselves, and that was fun too. Riff-Raff Watch: look fast for Richard O'Brien as a flute player.
